Operation Respond is working with the Emergency Services Information Network Corporation (ESINC) to create an electronic network of connected emergency responders to receive and share emergency information. ESINC is a Houston, Texas based corporation that provides training, support and technology to the emergency response community under a license agreement signed with Operation Respond. ESINC has developed an electronic network of first responders with access to the OREISTM software. Responders that are a part of this network will receive emergency notifications, messages and alerts, as well as other incident and emergency preparedness information sent from a variety of sources. For example, corporations and government agencies could use the network to issue alerts and messages to responders when confronted with catastrophes, such as floods, earthquakes, or hazardous materials spills. Several successful messages have already been sent over the network. Responders connected to the network will receive this information in real time by email or fax. Connected responders can use the network to exchange information and messages with other emergency professionals from across North America. Users can also access information about upcoming OREISTM training and other events. ESINC has the prime responsibility of increasing OREIS deployments. They will take the lead in attempting to grow the OREIS network of users from its current 56,000 emergency response agencies. |
